My client currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Assistant to join the team based in SW London.
Working 3 days a week. 3 Months FTC- Potential Extension
They are retailers of premium fresh food. They prepare their own range of salads, sandwiches, dips, soups, meal pots and breakfast pots and ready meals in their in-house Production Kitchen. They currently supply freshly prepared meals and ready to eat items to 13 of there stores, which will require a more focused approach to quality and technical management in our business. They are also growing the range of own label products procured through their supplier base.
Role of the Technical Assistant
To support the Technical Manager in ensuring the business meets its obligations with regard to food safety and quality.
Main Duties And Responsibilities for the Technical Assistant:
Assisting with the development and improvement of the company safety and quality culture.
Working alongside the production team to ensure paperwork is being completed correctly, accurately and in line with the site HACCP system and FSMS.
Conducting internal audits and coordinating timely completion of corrective actions identified.
Logging customer complaints and non-conformances and assisting with investigations where required.
Ensuring supplier and raw material documentation is accurate and kept up to date. Goods in and goods out QC checks.
Dealing with supplier issues and non-compliances.
Coordinating samples for the lab as per the site testing schedule
Person Specification for the Technical Assistant
Good communicator
Highly organised
Strong analytical skills
High attention to detail
Computer literate
Food science degree or previous experience of the food industry is desirable.
